How to make citronella candles out of wine bottles?

Place candle wick in center of wine bottle. I either wrap the wick around a pencil or use popsicle sticks to keep the wick centered inside the bottle. Once the wax is melted, added 10-15 drops of citronella oil to wax. Slowly pour wax into wine bottle.

How do you make wine bottle candles?

Instructions Cut wine bottles into candle holders with a bottle cutter. Sand down any jagged edge where the cut was made. Hot glue wicks with tabs to the bottom of your bottles. Melt wax in a candle pitcher or in the microwave. Add fragrance oil and stir. Pour the wax into each container.

Can you put candle wax in a wine glass?

A half teaspoon or so is all you’ll need to pour—just enough to cover the sand. Let this gel cool for a few minutes. This step helps keep the sand from shifting or floating when you pour the rest of the candle wax.

What size candle fits in a wine bottle?

Tall narrow bottles like wine bottles work best, but any will do as long as the mouth of the bottle is about 3/4 inch in diameter. This is the size of the drip candles, and it will be easier to get the candle to stand in the mouth of the bottle if they are near the same size.

How much wax is needed for a wine bottle candle?

Once melted, add desired fragrance oils, about 10 ml per 1 pound of wax. Step 6: With the wicks securely in place, pour melted, perfumed wax into bottle base. Leave ¼ inch of space at the top.

Are homemade tiki torches safe?

As long as the torches are secured into the ground firmly and are installed away from flammable materials, they are very safe to operate.
