The sweetest gift you can give to your valentine is deliciously rich cake. If your idea of perfect Valentine’s Day involves drinking plenty of wine than you’re in for a real treat. Dark chocolate and red wine are match made in heaven. Add some of your favourite red wine (we recommend Merlot or Pinot Noir), and the result will be delicious. Wine will give the chocolate intense, rich flavour and unique taste.
Chocolate Red Wine Cake
Ingredients
- 125g butter
- 380g dark chocolate
- 175g brown sugar
- 35g plain flour
- 3 tbsp red wine
- 120g ground almonds
- 5 eggs
Method
Preheat the oven to 170 degrees. Melt the butter and chocolate in large bowl. Once melted fold in the brown sugar and ground almonds and flour. After that, you can add the eggs and red wine and mix until its completely smooth. Pour it into the tin and bake for 40 minutes. Let the cake to cool completely and dust it with some cocoa powder over the cake. Serve it with some strawberries or cream. Slice and serve, or keep refrigerated for about a week.
