Millésime Bio 2019

The only fair dedicated exclusively to organic winemaking will return to Montpellier for its 26th edition this year. Millesime Bio wine fair will take place at the Exhibition Centre in Montepellier from 28th to 30th January 2019. This organic wine fair was launched in 1993 by a small number of winegrowers who organised it to stimulate the interest and the importance of organic and biodynamic viticulture. The wines presented here have to be certified organic.

This years’ event will have multiple activities such as tasting, conferences and the Challenge Mileesime Bio contest. The fair also runs a program of master classes and seminars, paying particular attention to the production of organic wines, but also sharing the trends and problems affecting the wine trade in general, including business and marketing.

Challenge Millésime Bio 2019

Challenge Millésime Bio is the wine contest of Millesime Bio trade fair with a range of more than 1400 organic wines competing. This year’s challenge will be chaired by M. Philippe Faure Brac, best sommelier of the world in 1992 and president of the Union of the French Sommellerie. M. Philippe will also be a spokesperson for the Challenge Millesime Bio wine contest.

Last years’ event attracted more than 1000 exhibitors from 15 countries and 5.700 visitors. The concept for 2019 remains the same: all stands are identical to ensure that large and small producers are presented on an equal footing, which means that wines come first. In addition, stands are organised randomly, rather than by country or region, to encourage further exploration and interaction amongst wine producers.

This year, Millésime Bio has decided to open the fair to producers and traders of other types of organic alcoholic beverages: beer, spirits and cider. A free-pouring area equipped with enotecas offers guests the opportunity to taste wines that have won medals in the annual Millésime Bio Challenge contest.
